How to use it
- Paste the list of entrants, one per line: usernames, names or emails. Repeated entries are detected and removed automatically.
- Choose how many winners and backups you need, and optionally type the giveaway name.
- Press Draw winners. The results are decided at that moment, with the date and time shown on the card.
- Press Reveal next to show each winner with a drum-roll effect (great for a live stream), or Reveal all. Then take a screenshot or use Copy as text.
Run a giveaway your followers can trust
A giveaway only builds goodwill if people believe it was fair. The easiest way to show that is to make the draw visible: a clear list of entrants, duplicates handled the same way for everyone, a random draw, and a result with the date and time on it. This giveaway picker does all of that in the browser, with nothing to install and no account to connect.
Getting your list of entrants
How you collect entries depends on your rules. Common options:
- Comments. Copy the usernames of everyone who commented, one per line. Many platforms let you export or view comments in a list, or you can copy them from a moderation dashboard.
- Forms and spreadsheets. If people entered through a form, copy the name or email column straight from the spreadsheet and paste it here. Each row becomes one line.
- Several entries per person. If your rules give extra entries (for example, one per tagged friend), keep in mind that this tool removes repeats. For weighted draws, use the name picker wheel, where every line counts as one chance.
A draw that holds up to scrutiny
When you press Draw, every winner and backup is chosen at once using your browser’s cryptographically secure random generator (crypto.getRandomValues). Each participant has exactly the same chance, and nobody can win twice. The result card shows the date and time of the draw with your time zone, the number of participants and how many duplicates were removed. That makes a single screenshot a simple, honest record to post in your stories or pin in the comments.
The list fingerprint adds another layer. It is calculated from the participant list, so if you publish the list and the code, anyone can paste the same list and confirm the code matches. It proves the list wasn’t edited after the fact, without revealing anything else.
Revealing winners live
On a stream or a video call, suspense is half the fun. Use Reveal next to show one winner at a time: the slot rolls through participants’ names and slows down before landing on the winner, with a short chime and confetti. The rolling is only a visual effect, because the result was fixed when you pressed Draw. If the audience is waiting, Reveal all shows every result in sequence.
Before you announce the winner
- Check that each winner meets your rules (following the account, age or location, and so on).
- Contact the winners privately, and move on to the backups in order if someone doesn’t reply within your deadline.
- Follow the promotion rules of the platform you use and any local laws that apply to prize draws.
Frequently asked questions
How are duplicate entries handled?
Before the draw, the list is checked for repeats. “@Maria.Photos”, “maria.photos” and “ maria.photos ” count as the same person: capital letters, extra spaces and a leading @ are ignored. The first spelling is kept, and you can see how many repeats were removed. If your rules allow several entries per person, run the name picker wheel instead, which keeps repeats.
Are the winners decided when I press Draw or when I reveal them?
When you press Draw. All winners and backups are drawn at once, with your browser’s cryptographic random generator, and the date and time are recorded. Revealing them one by one is only a presentation effect: the names shown while “rolling” are decoration, and the final name was already fixed.
What is the list fingerprint?
It is a short code calculated from the de-duplicated participant list. If anyone pastes the same list again, they get the same code, regardless of the order of the lines. Sharing it alongside your screenshot lets followers check that the list you drew from is the one you published.
What are backups for?
If a winner doesn’t reply in time, doesn’t meet the rules or declines the prize, you give it to the first backup, then the second, and so on. Because backups are drawn at the same time as the winners, you don’t need to run a second draw.
Is this tool connected to Instagram, TikTok or other platforms?
No. It doesn’t log in to any account or read comments automatically. You paste the list yourself, which keeps your accounts safe and works with any platform, spreadsheet or form. Remember to follow the promotion rules of the platform where you run the giveaway.
