This policy explains what information is involved when you use SpinFairly (spinfairly.com), and what choices you have. The short version: the tools run on your device, we don’t ask for accounts, and the lists you type are never sent to us. The site is paid for by advertising from Google, which uses cookies as described below.
The data you enter into the tools stays in your browser
Everything you type or paste into our tools (names, lists, questions, numbers) is processed by JavaScript inside your own browser. It is not uploaded to our servers, and we have no way to see it.
Some features store data on your device only, using your browser’s local storage:
- lists you choose to save (for example, a class roster), and the last list you used, so it’s there when you come back;
- your preferences, such as sound on or off and the spin duration.
You can delete this data at any time by clearing your browser’s site data for spinfairly.com. It is never shared with us or anyone else.
Share links. When you use a “Share” button, the list is encoded inside the link itself, after the # sign. Browsers don’t send that part of an address to the server, so the list isn’t stored by us. Anyone you send the link to can see the list, so share it only with people you trust with those names.
Information collected automatically
Like any website, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes technical data needed to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse, such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested. These server logs are kept for a limited time and are not used to identify you.
If we enable website analytics, we use it to count visits and see which tools are useful (for example, pages viewed and approximate country). Where the law requires it, analytics only runs after you consent.
Advertising and cookies
We use Google AdSense to show ads. Google and its partners are third-party vendors that use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, a consent message from a Google-certified consent platform asks for your choice before advertising cookies are used. You can change your choice at any time from the privacy link shown by that message. If you decline, you may still see ads, but they won’t be personalized.
Children
Our tools are often shown on a classroom screen by teachers. The site is meant to be operated by adults and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from children. Names typed into the tools are never sent to us.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR in Europe or state laws in the United States), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data, or to object to certain uses. Because we don’t hold the content you enter into the tools, most requests can be handled by clearing your browser data. For anything related to advertising cookies, use the options above.
